Project South Sudan
The goal of this fundraiser is to raise money to build a co-ed school in the town of Abong in Jonglei State, South Sudan. The school would be a boarding school and cater to 6-12th grade students from Abong and surrounding towns. Not only would the school benefit its students, but also the larger community. There are plans to build a farm as well as install a water well near the school. Having been born in Sudan and witnessing the destruction done by the civil war, it is difficult for me to sit back and not take action. Nelson Mandela once said "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." This is just the beginning, and if we all work together we can rebuild South Sudan into the prosperous, independent, strong, self-sufficient nation we know it can be.
