BENEFITING: MUST Ministries
I have been wheelchair bound since June 2004 due to the removal of a tumor from my spinal cord. Immediately after surgery, I was paralyzed unable to move my legs or feel anything below my waist. The surgeon was not sure how much movement, if any, I would regain and not very optimistic that I would walk again. Since then, through determination and a never give up attitude, I have regained movement in my legs and can take a few steps with a walker.
My greatest desire is to walk again and regain my independence. However, it will require intense physical therapy.
Recently, I was introduced to Project Walk Spinal Cord Injury Recovery Center located in Alpharetta, GA. Project Walk works specifically with spinal cord injury patients and has an excellent record of rehabilitating patients who some doctors claimed would never walk again. Read about their amazing work and watch inspiring videos Here.
I had the opportunity to visit the Project Walk center and be evaluated by one of the therapists. The equipment and techniques used exceed the limits of traditional physical therapy. My doctor feels Project Walk would greatly benefit me and help me walk again.
However, the cost is prohibitive. I am raising funds to cover the cost of the sessions and transportation to and from the center, as insurance does not cover the costs.
Your donation would be greatly appreciated.
