BENEFITING: Pajama Program, Inc.
EVENT DATE: Jan 17, 2014
The Pajama Program is a New York-based, national non-profit organization that helps create a warm and nurturing environment for children in need by providing new pajamas and books. For most children, bedtime is a time of comfort, love and security. A time when children crave intimacy with their moms and dads, a few minutes of bonding and sharing in a safe, secure environment. But for the millions of children in need in America, a good night is a luxury they do not often experience. The Pajama Program works with orphans, foster children, youth at risk, group homes, shelters, and temporary housing facilities. Many of them are waiting to be adopted, others have been abandoned, abused or neglected.
The organization recently launched the nationwide One Million Good Nights initiative to collect one million new pajamas, books, and resources for children in need by December 31, 2015. Snuggling up in cozy new pajamas with their very own new book gives these children a secure and nurturing ‘Good Night’ at bedtime.
The Pajama Program is a 501(c)(3) organization with a 4 star rating on Charity Navigator in the categories of financial health and accountability and transparency.
