Fundraising goal: Through LAYC's Dance-A-Thon, the Promotor Pathway hopes to raise funds to provide Christmas gifts for all the children of our participants who are young parents. Often, these are the only gifts our participants' children receive during the holiday season. Approximately $25 is spent on each gift. In 2015, gifts were given to 97 children and in 2016, as we serve more youth, we plan to provide 120 gifts to children! Help the Promotores raise $3,000 and provide a wonderful holiday memory for these kids!
LAYC's Promotor Pathway is a long-term case management intervention model for disconnected and disengaged youth whose obstacles prevent them from accessing resources and achieving educational, employment, and healthy living goals. Promotores or Youth Advocates work on a one-on-one basis with each youth for up to ten years to remove barriers and encourage participation in a broad set of LAYC services, and connect them to other needed resources in the community. Ultimately, the Promotor Pathway supports youth in achieving a successful transition to adulthood and reconnecting youth to their families and communities.
