BENEFITING: Prostate Cancer Foundation BC
ORGANIZER: Prostate Cancer Foundation BC
EVENT DATE: May 07, 2017
We all have a man in our lives that we care about - a father, grandfather, husband, brother, son, grandson or friend. 1 in 8 canadian men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.
As an Exercise Physiologist specializing in Oncology, I have worked with thousands of men (and their spouses and families) over the last 10 years, to help them manage and overcome the physical challenges left behind by treatments and surgeries (like incontinence, erectile dysfunction and fatigue). Together, we start to reconnect their body, putting it back together piece by piece, making it whole again.
Each and every prostate cancer survivor has a unique story to tell and I feel privileged to have been able to work with so many amazing men.
Each and every one of these men has inspired me - to live a healthy life, to appreciate each day and embrace opportunities, to respect my health (and work to keep it), to connect with those around me and to love and support my family and friends with my whole heart.
Each of these men is part of my inspiration to run.
This year, I am running the BMO half marathon to help raise money for the Prostate Cancer Foundation BC, which provides support to men with prostate cancer through support groups, information and research funding. As a board director of PCFBC, I feel privileged to be a part of such a great foundation.
Please donate to this very worthy cause, as every little bit helps.
