Protect the Children of Alviso California
Organized by: charles taylor
Modern Environmental injustice rears its ugly head in San Jose California. The Mayor and city council have approved a trucking facility across the street from an elementary school in a low income, minority neighborhood. The local residents are mounting a legal campaign to stop the project which violates the agreement the city made with the community and possible EPA regulations protecting children from toxic hazards. The diesel fumes, noise and truck traffic represent a physical danger as well as a disruption to the education of generations of children that will attend the school for years to come. This current administration which has already done irreparable damage to the city through mismanagement not only approved this ill conceived project across from an elementary school but in one of the most sensitive environmental areas at the southern tip of the San Francisco Bay.
