Protect Moms from Financial Assault
Organized by: Kristine Re-Mend
Women who spend years supporting husbands and families are left in poverty with current marital dissolution laws. Some men intentionally destroy a woman's career and financial autonomy to disempower and humiliate her, leaving choice of staying with abusive partner or living in poverty during senior years.
Removing long term alimony is legally sanctioned impoverishment and financial assault of women, used by abusive men to humiliate women, degrading them to family and community.
Sex addicts /offenders often use this strategy to block wives from leaving marriages where they are being repeatedly assaulted. Attorneys actually promote and aggressively push men to stop any offers of financial restitution, even in cases when husband has admitted to intentionally destroying his partner's career for his own ego and desire to have power and control over her -
After 30 years supporting their husbands, wives and mothers in their 50's and 60's are told to get a job or to get certified in some career and start at the beginning -
Men's rights groups state that "women who choose to stay home and not use degrees or experience will pay the price if their marriages fail because they will not be compensated for putting families first..."
Attorneys tell men they do not "owe " their wives any financial equity after many years of marriage.
Moms are left humiliated, treated like discarded property, with limited incomes. Unless the marriage has enormous assets, women are tricked into poverty.
Funds needed to raise awareness to first stop this practice and provide equitable financial security to wives and mothers, AND to raise awareness that now all women who stay home with children must demand financial equity in marriage.
Wives and mothers are NOT servants to their husbands and families, left in poverty when a marriage ends.
