Thanks for visiting. I am running the New York Marathon for Protimos, a charity funding the legal representation of poverty-stricken and marginalised communities in Africa which was founded by my good friend Fiona Darroch and of which I have recently been invited to become a Trustee. Funds are urgently needed to support cases brought to vindicate legal rights to compensation for the loss of use of land or traditional know-how. In Maseru. the capital of Lesotho, two young lawyers trained by Protimos now have 12 cases underway, helping local communities to claim compensation for the loss of the use of land submerged by the Katse Dam. Chief Khetang and the Mapeleng community have had no water since 1996 and their situation is desparate. Many thanks for your support and kind donation.
