On July 30, 2017, I will be joining some of my colleagues from PPM America (and our affiliates Jackson and Prudential U.K.) for the Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100. This is an annual race that began in 2013 as a lasting legacy of the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic games -- so we will be riding the same course as the Olympic riders did (albeit at a much slower pace!). Although I've done a number of half marathons, 10K running races, etc., this will be my first official bike race (100 miles -- go big or go home, right?) As an amateur cyclist (with a heavy emphasis on amateur), I will be doing the race to raise money for charity, specifically Chicago Lights. Chicago Lights is a community outreach organization at Fourth Presbyterian Church where I have been a member since 2007. The mission of Chicago Lights is provide hope and opportunity to Chicago's children, youth, and adults who face the challenges of poverty. Through supportive relationships and diverse programs, its mission is to empower people to thrive academically, secure economic stability, lead healthy lives, and build community. Chicago Lights offers five signature programs - I will be riding to raise money for three of them: (1) Tutoring, (2) Summer Day Camp, and (3) Social Service Center. Please join me in raising money for this great cause!
