I am very excited to support the Pine Street Inn while training for my 1st marathon! I always wanted to try a marathon at least once but was intimidated by the enormous effort it takes to prepare for this run - I watched my parents train for their first marathon in the '80's and couldn't believe the commitment of time and sweat! My dad went on to run 3 more and I now understand the powerful motivation and sense of accomplishment you feel as you prepare to run 26.2 miles. I started running regularly with a good friend (in photos attached) who is also supporting a charity this year, so the road has not been so lonely - even enjoyable...at times. When I completed 18 miles in the wind and snow, I knew it was time to commit to this race! My achievement of the fundraising goal for the Pine Street Inn will add immensely to my triumph of crossing the finish line on April 16.

As an official charity of the John Hancock Non-Profit Marathon Program, Pine Street Inn has been given a limited number of guaranteed entries – “bibs” that runners would ordinarily have to qualify for. Since 2004, Pine Street runners have raised tens of thousands of dollars in support of ending homelessness.
The need for community involvement in ending homelessness is greater than ever, and we hope that you will support our runners and Pine Street Inn in ending homeless. In making a donation, you will enable us to raise critical funds that help Pine Street provide essential services – including permanent supportive housing, job training, emergency shelter and street outreach – to more than 10,000 homeless and formerly homeless individuals every year.
