THE STORY:

POINT PLEASANT FOUNDATION FOR EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION INC wrote -

The reasoning behind the name of our fundraiser, 10 for 10 To Be On Point, is that if alumni and friends can give at least $10, we can win $10,000. The "Be On Point" program is the character education program in place at Point Pleasant Borough High School which focuses on three overarching characteristics - Respect, Responsibility and Pride.  The program helps to create and foster a positive school environment for our students that extends out to the community.  A similar initiative is in place at Memorial Middle School.  In addition to creating a positive environment, the program's primary goal is to reduce discipline problems and bullying issues and increase student attendance.  Twice a year, "Be On Point" hosts two big events, one in the fall and one in the spring.  The events showcase student talent and present a guest speaker to deliver an inspirational message centered on our three overarching characteristics of Respect, Responsibility and Pride.  A mentoring program between high school students and middle school and elementary school students has been created through the "Be On Point" program.  The "Be On Point" program has also created a wonderful relationship with the Schroth School, a school for students with cerebral palsy and other severe disabilities. This relationship has been beneficial to the students of both schools.  Financial support is needed to continue the "Be On Point" program to cover the costs of the two events we host each year, the student incentive program, the mentoring program and the the relationship with the Schroth School.

Please consider donating a minimum of $10.
