As most of you know, I am an avid lover of all things pug. Especially, rescued pugs. The Pug Rescue of New England is near and dear to my heart. On June 3, 2017 they are hosting a 5k in South Boston to benefit the rescue. This will be my second year running this race and it couldn't be for a better cause. It is because of rescues like PRoNE that I have my two pups. Jabba was my foster pug, through a different rescue, who came to me at the age of 6. His sweet face and loud snores stole my heart and I couldn't let him leave my home. Zelda, the puggle/boston mix, came to me from a rescue in Pennsylvania at 8 months old. My love for these two has lead me to a career change from substance abuse counseling to veterinary technology. As a requirement for my Senior Seminar course, I had to choose an organization with which to volunteer and assist with a project. This is my project. Run with me. Run for Jabba and Zelda and all the other rescue pups out there still needing homes. Run to reduce the cost of the medical bills for senior pugs. If running isn't your thing, donating is always helpful. Volunteering your time to the event would make a huge impact as well. Whatever you decide, Jabba and Zelda will love you for it! And remember kids, pugs not drugs.
