BENEFITING: Partners United for Life Saving Education
Partners United for Life Saving Education (P.U.L.S.E.) is a non-profit tax-exempt organization that provide first and CPR training for firefighters, teachers, civic groups and anyone else that is willing to provide aid and comfort to people in need. We are trying to raise money to aid in the startup of a volunteer ambulance service in a small community in southwestern Montana. The community consists of around 1100 people in the small town of Whitehall and another 1500 people within a 20 mile radius of the town. The area served is 26 miles from the nearest hospital. We are looking to establish a service with Advanced Life Support (ALS) services. ALS services are an essential part of this and any remote service because it allows for a higher standard of care that translates into better patient outcome at the hospital. We are looking at startup costs that will hopefully provide enough money for at least one ambulance fully stocked (used, as a new ambulance with no equipment starts at $150,000), to rent or lease a building, pay for utilities and internet service for at least six months, and to pay at least 6 months of stipend to the volunteers for their run time which can be any time during the day or night. Most of our volunteers have regular paying jobs and we feel that a small reward goes a long way for them giving time in their busy lives to do this service. People leave birthdays, dinners, sometimes work, leave in the middle of movies, etc., etc. to provide this volunteer work. We have the people that are willing to do this but are short of the resources needed to do this. We are operating at this time with the ambulance parked at a volunteer’s house with supplies and equipment stored in a borrowed space. The service would run under P.U.L.S.E. as a separate entity but still having the advantage of being under a 501 (c) (3) entity so that contributions can be used as tax deductible donations. We feel that this is important for those that contribute so that they may also benefit from this project.
