I have the privilege of serving over my Spring Break at an orphanage in South Africa. Bethesda Outreach is a ministry born out of a desire to show compassion to children in Africa who have been orphaned as a result of the HIV/AIDS epidemic and provides Christ-centered family style homes for the long term care of these orphans.
Our team, consisting of 7 Purdue athletes and our Athletic Chaplain will serve at the orphanage by doing manual labor, holding a Sports Day and chapel service for the school, working with a local hospice ministry and interacting daily with the children and workers of Bethesda.
The cost for an individual to participate is approximately $2000. All the donations received will go directly to Bethesda Outreach Ministries International. These donations will provide for my participation. Anything extra will go directly to the Bethesda ministry. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law because it is a 501c3 organization.
I feel honored to be representing Purdue University and FCA. I get chills when thinking about strengthening my faith with Christ while helping those in need. My mission is to push my mind, body and soul. I ask for your prayers that God will work through me.
"I shall pass through this world but once. Any good therefore that I can do or any kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again."
