Pure Barre Columbia is excited to be part of Pure Give and support our local community by fundraising for Palmetto Health Foundation Walk for Life/ Race for Life. Pure Barre has always been more than just a workout; it's a lifestyle. This year the entire Pure Barre family is coming together for our first ever Pure Give Challenge to raise money for worthwhile causes all over the country. Each Pure Barre studio is choosing a cause and charity of their choice they want to support.

Our charity, Palmetto Health Foundation's Walk for Life and Race for Life is a 5K walk, 5K race and 10K race that raises funds for Palmetto Health Breast Center. This event, now in its 24th year, has one mission - beating breast cancer in the Midlands. All proceeds stay in our community and help to ensure the patients and families we treat receive the very best care, right here at home.

This cause was brought to our awareness by one of our dear clients, Bhavna Vasudeva, 2014 Walk for Life/Race for Life Featured Survivor.

Many people measure their lives by milestones-the ups and downs, the good and bad.

Bhavna Vasudeva was planning a special celebration with her husband for a milestone in her life-their 25th wedding anniversary. Those plans were put on hold when Bhavna discovered a lump in her left breast - she had breast cancer.

Bhavna considers herself one of the lucky ones. Her cancer was caught early and contained to her left breast. Despite difficulties in her journey with cancer, Bhavna says that "the hardest things in my life have always brought me the most joy in the end." Though cancer "robs you of certain things," it was because of this milestone in her life that she discovered the depth of her friends' and family's love and support.
