“I now have a bank account. You see that car - it is mine. I did not think I could ever get a car again because my husband destroyed my credit. This is possible because of Jenesse and the Allstate Financial Literacy and Empowerment program.” S.W. ~ Former Jenesse client
Economic abuse impacts the lives of most, if not all, survivors of domestic violence. Controlling or withholding access to economic resources, ruining credit, sabotaging a partner’s job, and depriving someone from meeting basic needs are tactics used by individuals who choose to be abusive towards their partners. Jenesse Center knows first-hand the importance of financial literacy education and empowerment in ensuring the long-term stability and self-sufficiency of domestic violence survivors.
Since 1980, Jenesse Center has been helping families to escape and overcome the trauma of domestic violence. Through our comprehensive, holistic service approach to domestic violence intervention, Jenesse seeks to remove every conceivable barrier, including financial obstacles, to overcoming the effects of domestic abuse and breaking the cycle of violence that ensnares so many families.
Through comprehensive programs, families can overcome the effects of domestic violence and lead the lives they envision for themselves and their children. An example of this is Jenesse’s “Allstate Financial Literacy and Empowerment Program,” an on-site vocational assessment, job-readiness, and financial management program that provide survivors of domestic violence with all the tools they need to master their financial future and attain self-sufficiency.
We invite YOU to help us “Pack our Purse,” with donations, so that Jenesse can continue providing programs that economically empower women and children of domestic violence! Also, if Jenesse gets the most donations, you’d be helping us at a chance to win $100,000.
All donors will be entered into a drawing for a designer Purple Purse… The more times you donate, the more chances you have to win!
Everyone loves a FABULOUS purse!
