Putting Dance Back In Our School
Organized by: Alicia Champion
EVENT DATE Oct 10, 2014
Marion Law Academy is trying to rejuvenate our dance team that used to be a prominent feature though due to the lack of funding, it was left out of the budget. We have a great teacher who is not asking for payment though standard ballet uniforms are needed for the dancers. Which is an added benefit because that helps students who cannot afford to pay for ballet classes and secure transportation to get to average dance locations that are 25+ minutes from where they live.
Ms. Lewis will be teaching three age levels which provides classes for ages 4-13 years old. We are already located in a high poverty zone so expecting parents to be able to take care of dance uniform expenses is highly unlikely and waiting on that possibility will end with another year without dance in our school.
While we are fundraising to cover expenses, we would like to mention that we are open to companies who may want to donate uniforms rather than money and that's GREATLY APPRECIATED because at the end of the day, that's what our fundraising goal is needed for. The amount is for dance equipment and uniforms for all 3 age levels including 2 leotards, leggings, body liner,s shoes, and performance wear for each student in need. We are hoping to reach our need by October 10th so that outfits are back in time for an October 17th performance.
