BENEFITING: BALTIMORE GREEN CURRENCY ASSOCIATION
The BNote is Baltimore's local money, accepted at 240 local businesses across the city. BNotes, like many local currencies around the country, exist to demonstrate a sense of pride in place, encourage people to support local businesses, and keeps money circulating in the community. While many of our regular dollars end up leaving the community and enriching distant corporations and wall street executives, BNotes stay in Baltimore.
Let’s keep it working for us by taking the BNote to the next level.
Women have always been powerful changemakers in their communities yet have never been featured on U.S. paper currency. We think it's high time that changed. This April, with your help, we will print brand new designs of our BN1 and BN5 notes, featuring Frederick Douglass and Edgar Allen Poe, and will introduce BN10 and BN20 notes featuring two notable Baltimore women!
Stay tuned right here, as we will reveal the new designs sometime this month, immediately following a reveal event for the Baltimore press. To make the new bills possible, we are raising $15,000 to cover printing costs and new, more durable currency paper.
We call on you to help us reach this goal so we can further our work to make the BNote a fundamental and inspirational part of the local economy and communities of Baltimore! For more information, visit our website or our Facebook Page.
