In his post-NFL career, Michael McGruder founded Platinum Charities Foundation (PCF), a 501c3 non-profit organization. PCF is made up of three programs: football camps that mentor youth to be all that they can be on and off the field, a scholarship program that increases higher educational opportunities for students in underserved communities, and a domestic violence program that provides permanent housing for domestically abused women and their children. 

“There is a shortage of permanent housing once they leave an emergency or transitional shelter,” McGruder said. Thus, he and Cecile Mitchell created the Put Yourself In Her Shoes, bring an end to abuse campaign (PYIHS). Through the union between sports, community, and businesses, the PYIHS campaign will create dynamic initiatives and humanitarian service projects in the 32 NFL cities across America.
