We're Crushing Kids' Cancer by riding our bikes. We represent CKC on organized rides all year, and fundraise and raise awareness while we do it.
All the money we raise is used by Seattle Children's Hospital to fund cancer research. The greater organization (Crush Kids' Cancer) is looking to fund sending 12 kids through clinical trials for adaptive T-Cell immunotherapy, which costs $30K per kid! The fundraising we did in 2012 put 2 kids through the trial, so in 2013 we're aiming to put 3 kids through! More information is available here.
Are you riding in any organized biking events this year? Looking for a way to change the world while you do it?
Our team rides for CRUSH KIDS CANCER! We'll provide swag, perks, a great team, and a great cause - you provide awareness and fund-raising!
Why is our team called Quakes and Whales?
All are welcome to join, but we have historically been a rag-tag mixed group of people who either work at Microsoft or are somehow associated with the Oceanography and Geology departments at UW. There is already a Microsoft team, so we are Quakes and Whales!
