BENEFITING: WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT
In August, the Clark County Fair will be celebrating 144 years in the community. Every year, the fair provides entertainment, blue ribbon animals, and irresistible fair food. It is an honor for me to be able to be part of the fair in a much larger way, this year. I am Katie Surritt, the 19 year old 2013 Riverview Clark County Fair Court Queen. My job is to represent the fair across the Pacific Northwest with my Horse at networking events, community functions, and rodeos with my two princesses. Together, we make up the Fair Court. I made the decision to revolutionize the Court’s involvement in the community by becoming a part of a non-profit organization that each of us can represent throughout the year.
My decision for my non-profit was easy and was made in honor of my many friends and fellow citizens who dedicate their lives to serving our country. There is simply no other non-profit that I believe is more worthy: Wounded Warriors. With their help, wounded soldiers and their families are introduced into civilian life again through physical, mental, and economic support programs. As this is my third year working with Wounded Warriors, I know that I can take my fundraising efforts to new heights.
If my heart could speak, you would see that it has dedicated every ounce of being to this organization. It is only when you personally know a solider, their family, their sacrifice, and their pain that you feel the need to help. I have this need. However, I also have a need for your help. I am asking you for a donation that will be auctioned off at our coronation on February 2nd that will help raise funds for our Wounded Warriors. A donation can come in any form or size; a large gift, a small gift, or a personal donation. Your company will receive recognition and gratitude at our event, as well as a personal invitation to join us in celebrating.
I strongly invite you to visit Wounded Warriors on Facebook or on their website, Woundedwarriorproject.org. If you have any questions or would like to donate, please contact myself at (360) 213-6964 or the Clark County Fair office at (360)397-6180. I would love to answer any questions or meet with you personally to discuss donations, coronation details, and the great accomplishments of the Wounded Warrior Project and my involvement with our nation’s heroes.
