BENEFITING: Queens Centers for Progress
ORGANIZER: Queens Centers for Progress
EVENT DATE: Oct 22, 2017
Years ago, my dear friend, Tony Fasulo, introduced me to Queens Centers for Progress (QCP) and talked me in to joining their board of directors. What started as a provisional means to help the organization achieve their mission of providing person-centered services and supports to children and adults who have developmental disabilities, became a twenty-year run. It is an honor, a pleasure and a deeply rewarding involvement.
What pulled me in and kept me engaged all these years is the level of commitment of the staff, my colleagues on the board and the dedicated care-givers that tirelessly work to promote independence, community involvement, and quality of life for the people whom the organization serves. BUT my RUN doesn’t end there…
On October 22nd, I will be running in the Marine Corps 10k in Washington DC as a member of Team QCP, the organization’s endurance/fundraising program.
QCP is a sound organization and serves over 1500 people on a daily basis with another 1000 families served through their clinic and service coordination departments. They play a necessary role in helping the people they support receive the resources necessary to achieve independence and integrate into the community. It is NEVER easy for a person with a disability; there are barriers, there are hurdles. By donating to QCP you can help break down these barriers and directly improve the quality of life for the children and adults whom they serve.
I’ll do all the physical stuff. I just need you to help make this easier by donating here.
I thank you for your support,
