BENEFITING: Queens Community House, Inc.
EVENT DATE: Nov 13, 2016
Hello friends, colleagues, and family:
As you may know, I have served on the Board of Directors of the Queens Community House (QCH) for two years now. I am proud of the important work this organization does to provide a broad network of services to borough residents of all ages, classes, races and ethnicities while supporting the viability of neighborhoods and the borough as a whole.
I am trying to raise $4,000 over the next month to support QCH. I was going to run in a marathon as part of my pledge, but I have been injured, so I am pledging to "walk" the entire 26.2 mile length of the NYC marathon course on November 13 (a week after the official race) as part of this fundraising effort. It will take approximately 9 hours!
Please consider supporting this worthy organization because it will allow our committed staff to better be able to meet the important service needs of our neighbors. No amount is too small.
Dollars raised will go towards serving over 20,000 children, youth, families, and older adults every year, who take part in our 40 programs across 25 sites in Queens. Some examples of these services include pre-k, after school programs, meals for seniors, and family homeless prevention services. Your generous gift helps us strengthen neighborhoods and inspire change.
Your contribution is tax deductible and you will be sent an email receipt for your records.
NOTE: I would like to dedicate this fundraising effort to my uncle, David Maxwell, who passed away this summer. He was a smart, humble, and generous man who was interested in people/different cultures from around the world and would have appreciated the work of QCH.
