BENEFITING: Foundation for Women's Cancer
EVENT DATE: Nov 06, 2016
17 years ago I lost my mother to ovarian cancer. I was still a child when she got sick. I remember going to doctor's appointments, hospital visits and taking care of her when she was losing the battle. It was and still is a blur. I never had the time to mourn my mother's death - until recently. As I've grown older, I understand the struggle she endured. I now better understand who she was as a woman, a wife and a mother. I miss her greatly every day and sometimes still wonder why I can't have my mom here for me when I need her the most.
My mother sacrificed and achieved tremendous goals for her family. She gave her all in everything she did. My mother was brave, determined and of course the best dancing queen with a gorgeous smile. I will walk this race to celebrate her spirit and her life. I’m immensely proud of my mother - and I would like to finally share this moment with you.
Join me as I walk the mile race in honor of Doña Rosita!
If you can’t walk the race, I ask that you please make a donation under team name 'Que Viva Rosita'.
