Quinn's Quest to Help Kids of Cusco
Organized by: Quinn and Joe Healey
Getting Ready for the Big Send-Off!
February 12, 2016
My name is Quinn. I am 10 years old. I volunteered with my dad at Aldea Yanapay, a before-and-after school program that helps over 130 students a day in Cusco, Peru. These students are poor and often deal with tough surroundings. I mostly helped students with keyboarding and computer skills, but the 6 computers they had were old and crashed a lot. The kids don't have computers at home so this is the only place they get to work with modern technology.
Aldea Yanapay relies on volunteers and is funded by a local restaurant. The school doesn't ask for money from people, but I don't mind. :) I think the students could learn more if they had computers that work. I will use all the money I raise to purchase new/refurbished computers and school supplies (crayons, pens, paper), and to cover mailing costs. I hope you can help me help the children of Cusco! Thank you. -Quinn (and his dad who is helping)
