Ellie Quarton's Fundraiser:

Emergency Relief For Nepal

THE STORY:

Jamie and I were brainstorming ways to give aid in Nepal after the city and surrounding villages were devastated by the 7.8 earthquake on Sunday. And since creating an online fund raiser seemed much more logical than spending all of our fundraising money on a plane ticket to fly there in person, we are hoping to raise money and awareness to donate to those in need. Obviously we all want to make sure our money is going to the cause we choose, and not to wealthy people running the charities so, let me ease your mind. This Crowdrise site is created through The American Red Cross. There is a mere 3% transaction fee from your donation, and 91% of all Red Cross fundraising goes directly to aid itself, so don't worry, you're not paying for a CEO's private jet. As for the fee that pops up at the end when you actually donate, it is legitimately optional. You do not have to give an extra fee to the crowdwise site unless you're so in the mind. So, as cliché as it may sound, anything you can donate will help so please join us in our efforts!

All I wanted to do today was give food, water and hugs to everyone in need in Nepal. But donating will have to do! 2 years ago
