BENEFITING: CMAK SANDY HOOK MEMORIAL FOUNDATION
EVENT DATE: Jun 26, 2016
Rebecca Kowalski, mother of first-grader Chase who was killed in 2012, started the Race4Chase to provide triathlon training to children ages 6 to 12. The training and sense of accomplishment in crossing a finish line after running, biking and swimming is a huge confidence boost, Kowalski said. She has also seen kids make new friends, help struggling companions and develop their athletic skills. Her son was a triathlete and one of his favorite activities was running. Fifteen YMCAs, 14 in the state and one in South Carolina, offer free six-week youth triathlon programs as part of the race. It’s funded by the CMAK Sandy Hook Memorial Foundation, started by the Kowalski family.
Your donation will help provide an opening for a child to attend free of charge! Thank You!! Heidi :)
