Kathy Warcup's Fundraiser:

Race for a Soldier 2015

THE STORY:

Hi everyone! I'm running (well, some people call it "running") a half marathon on Sept. 27th in Gig Harbor. It's called "Race for a Soldier", and it raises funds for soldiers returning from combat who need mental health care. I ran last year's race alongside an active-duty army soldier! I quietly congratulated myself for finishing about 3 minutes ahead of him; but then I thought... HEY! He's wearing full combat gear, including his 60-pound pack and his boots! He ran in memory of a friend who'd committed suicide after coming home from Afghanistan. I guess you can tell I think this is a great cause, so if you feel so moved, please donate, and thanks!

Thank you, Kathy, for running in Race for a Soldier 2015 and helping to raise funds and awareness to this extremely important cause. Thanks to all who have served, and to all who are currently serving our country, including our wonderful son, Kevin. In memory of and a tribute to U.S. Army Major General Harold J. Greene who was shot and killed on August 5, 2014 as he visited Afghanistan's national military academy/training center in Kabul, Afghanistan. Harry was outstanding in every way ...a great leader, friend, father, son, and husband of my dear and lifelong friend, Sue Myers. 3 years ago
