BENEFITING: PARKINSON'S ASSOCIATION OF SAN DIEGO, INC.
When I was 2 years old my mom was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease at age 30. I watched her battle this disease with courage and perseverance, at a time when there was no internet and very little resources available to patients or families. She was an amazing mom. She taught me to never give up even in the face of struggles, that courage will bring hope and hope answers. For years I dreamed of helping in the fight against Parkinson’s and it’s my time! I have put my passion for endurance running and fight against Parkinson’s together.
Running 136.5 miles along a century old camel caravan route, they will be self-supported, carrying only their survival gear and a GPS for navigation. At the mercy of their own wilderness skills and the harsh environment of the Libyan Desert, each will be tested to their limits.
