THE STORY:

RACE FOR THE ROOF OF AFRICA!

Climbing for Cause on New Year’s Eve

Have you ever dreamed of climbing Kilimanjaro but just can’t seem to coordinate all those travel plans to Tanzania? This year you can climb virtually alongside our real-life team that’s headed to Africa -- and raise money for a good cause. We’ll have LIVE feeds from our team that’s trekking the 19,340 to the summit of Kili along the Machame Route. It’s up to you to beat them to the top!

Our climb takes place at The Cliffs, a brand-new state-of-the-art climbing facility in Long Island City. Their gym boasts 30,000 square feet of climbing terrain and expertly set routes for all ability levels, from kids to pros, so everyone can participate. No prior climbing experience is necessary. Climb solo or create a team with your family, co-workers, or friends. Either way, you’ll have one of the most unique New Year’s Eve experiences available in New York City.

Complete your climbing any time between now and midnight on December 31, and celebrate with us at a culminating Summit Party on NYE.

WHO WINS?

Which team wins is up to you! But no matter which group summits first, underserved youth in New York City will benefit because you’ll raise a minimum of $100 in sponsorships to participate, 80% of which will go directly the the Discover Outdoors Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides deserving students with amazing outdoor experiences. Of course, you can up the challenge and raise more money for the foundation through crowdfunding, in which case we can provide support and advice on how to run a successful campaign. Or pay the $100 fee yourself and get climbing.

THE CHALLENGE:

Collectively we would need to climb The Cliff’s Fox Room 200 times to make the exact distance, but due to altitude we are going to DOUBLE that to approximate real conditions more accurately -- 38,680 metres in all. So go ahead and double your bragging rights, too.

PRIZES:

Prizes will be given for most money raised for the foundation, most routes, best effort, and more. Show us what you’re made of!
