Being diagnosed with cancer is scary enough, but worrying about how you are going to keep a roof over your head and feed your children is even more frightening. Through the generosity of total strangers, along with my friends and family, some of my financial fears were eased during my breast cancer odyssey. I was lucky enough to have some of my household expenses taken care of while I was undergoing treatment. This allowed me to focus my energy on fighting to stay alive.
I was blessed to have my mother as my rock, my constant, my cheerleader, my voice of reason. Every patient needs a careGIVER. When I felt too sick, too tired, too overwhelmed, too scared, I had my mother to pick me up and encourage me to not GIVE up.
It is my turn to make sure that other patients are as lucky as I was. I can't share my mother, but with your help and generosity, you can be a "GIVER." You can GIVE to our (my mother and I) fundraising efforts. All money raised goes to support the mission of The Pink Fund. The Pink Fund provides 90 day non-medical assistance to breast cancer patients in active treatment.
On October 15th, we will dance to celebrate survivors, life, careGIVERS, and GIVERS like you!
