THE STORY:

Community – what does it mean to you?

Do you wonder  “What have you gained from your community and how do you contribute to it? “

What does Community mean to you when the foundation, the builder, the pillar is suddenly and tragically gone? When the unthinkable occurs?

For Michelle Beckmann and her 7 year old twin daughters, Rachel and Gretchen, the unthinkable happened on Wednesday, September 24.  Rob Larimer, Father, Husband, and a Community Builder, was instantly killed in a horrific car accident.

To the Beckmann-Larimer Family:

·      Community became strength.

·      Community became family.

·      Community became friends.

·      Community became laughter.

·      Community became tears.

·      Community became familiar.

·      Community became home.

·      Community became comfort.

·      Community became support.

·      Community became life.

Rob Larimer was a man who “participated in life.”  He had a way that inspired the community to join him, smile and participate too…. He was a community servant, volunteer, family man, professional, adventurer, musician, role model, overall goofball and dedicated friend.  Rob Larimer was one of the good guys.

“To say we are overwhelmed by the love, support and generosity of the communities that surround us is a gross understatement, “ said Michelle. “This outpouring reminds me how much Rob was loved by so many. He was a community-builder.”

Rob’s incredible passion for his family and for so many branches of the community has been a constant.  We each can easily describe what we have gained from the community built by Rob.  And now this great loss leaves a void that feels impossible to fill.

Of utmost importance is rebuilding a foundation for his family – providing stability for his girls – those sweet “two babies” that will feel the void the most. How can we ease the pain caused by the loss of Rob’s presence, the loss of a husband, the loss of a daddy?  How can our community give back to the man who brought so many of us together?

The Gretchen & Rachel Benefit Fund has been established to honor Rob Larimer and ultimately help support his family for years to come.  Please consider donating online to the Rachel and Gretchen Fund on CrowdRise.com or by mailing donations to:

“Rob was a good friend. Maybe he was yours, too. So many of us are in pain about this and so I offer my condolences to you as well. Rob made the world a better place for so many people.”
