BENEFITING: Saha Global
I am back from Ghana, but I am still fundraising for Saha Global. Because of the work done on this past trip I worked on approximately 1,320 people now have a permanent source of clean drinking water and 2,240 people have access to solar electricity!
I was working in the village of Namdu II to set up a solar business, and now all 42 compounds in this village have light and access to a charging station. These lamps have been providing protection and other functional uses for the community such as light for cooking, light so that the children can study at night, and so much more.
The village used to spend close to half of their income on kerosene for lamps to light their compounds, but the burning of the kerosene, while pricey, was also detrimental to their health. The setting up of the solar business also empowered the community to run their own business. The women running the charging station have set up a successful business and have even used some of their savings to send their children to school.
Thank you to everyone who has donated so far and please continue to donate!
Every dollar you donate will go directly towards bringing light, power, and entrepreneurship to villages in Northern Ghana.
100% of the 93 water and solar businesses created by Saha Global in the past are still operational and completely run by local entrepreneurs in the community!
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or just to talk to me about why I am so passionate about this trip and this cause!
