We walk because we believe that healing can happen, disorders can diminish, and life to the full can be fully lived.
We walk because we believe that our worth and dignity is tied not to a waistline number but to the people we are and are becoming.
We walk because we believe that shame can be cast out and belonging can be embraced.
We walk because we believe in advocacy & awareness.
We walk because we believe that true healing happens only when the soil is removed and the roots are exposed and the rain of grace comes to nourish our cracked and thirsty hearts. It is here, and only here, that healing begins.
When Laura's daughter Rachel was in college, she struggled with an eating disorder that stripped her of life, joy, and self-confidence. Though the journey of recovery was Rachel's road to travel, Laura didn't leave her bewildered at many crossroads. She did what faithful mom's do- she loved, supported, and challanged her daughter in moments where recovery seemed an impossible feat. We walk because we believe that mothers ought support their daughters and because daughters wrestling with "ed" don't have to fight alone. We walk because we believe that culture needs to change, that beauty standards ought be redefined, and that balance with food & exercise needs to be taught.
Join us in our effort to raise awareness, change culture, and fight for the freedom of the women around us!
