This fundraiser will raise funds for my sister's not-for-profit organization called Global Potential (GP). It is a great non-governmental organization (NGO), with over 150 volunteers a year, based in NYC, Boston and Paris since 2007. I even designed its first logo for the first two years of the organization in the beginning stages of my graphic design career!;) GP works with amazing youth leaders aged 15 to 23 from marginalized urban and rural communities, to empower them through service-learning, education, cultural exchange and social entrepreneurship.
Since 2007, over 3000 youth fellows have participated in Global Potential, including nearly 400 who have had life-changing experiences carrying out cultural exchange programs in rural villages of Dominican Republic, Haïti, Nicaragua and Senegal.
The 2000 dollars that I will fundraise thanks to you will sponsor one youth from GP Boston, where my sister opened up its GP offices in 2009 and that is now continued by an amazing team, including directed by GP alumni Daniel Alfaro (class of 2010). The youth you will help sponsor will have taken GP's 18-month training program and thanks to you will be able to travel alongside other GP youth leaders this summer 2015, in GP's partner countries, to do important work in solidarity, youth empowerment and community development.
Thank you for your support for this important cause! I will be running the half-marathon to support youth empowerment for Global Potential!
