BENEFITING: Transverse Myelitis Association
EVENT DATE: Aug 22, 2015
I am 24. I was living my dream working in overseas missions in Papua New Guinea. I was planning on a 2-3 years initial service, but it ended after only 2 weeks.
In the matter of minutes I was paralyzed from the neck down. I was medically evacuated to Cairns, Australia. I was diagnosed a few days later with Transverse Myelitis.
After 5 and a half days I regained the use of my legs and partial use of my arms.
After being hospitalized for 4 weeks I was able to return home to Michigan.
I now only have minor disabilities, however, they are big to me.
I have been given little hope from my doctors, but the Transverse Myelitis Association gives people hope that one day we will have answers. It cannot happen without your help.
Thankfully, I have hope in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that one day I will be healed of this disease, whether in my life time or when my day comes to be with Him. Live Loved.
