Lilian lived in Eldoret when the election hostility occurred in 2008 and her community was heavily hit by violence. After the fighting subsided, her family moved to a United Nations Internally Displaced Persons Camp. Fortunately, Lilian's mother was able to get her out of the camp pretty quickly.
Lilian is a proud member of the Grassroots Girls Club, a club that implements grassroots techniques to help local women's groups in the area. She is an outspoken member and often takes initiative during meetings.
Lilian aspires to help her own community by becoming a doctor and help those with AIDS, since it is a disease that kills many in her town. She feels a responsibility to help others as she herself has been helped.
