BENEFITING: Run Far, Inc.
I am excited to be running in my first NYC Marathon on November 5, and I am thrilled to help raise money for Run Far, Inc. I've run many marathons, but this one will be extra special as I'll be running for something more than just myself.
Run Far's mission is to raise awareness on veteran suicide and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) while providing scholarships to the children of fallen United States Military service members who have taken their own lives due to this ongoing battle. Through the Sergeant Sean Northcutt Scholarship, Run Far will provide benefits and necessary assistance to the children of these fallen service members who have lost the battle at home. Currently, we are working towards providing our first scholarship to a high school student who has been affected by PTSD and veteran suicide. We want to raise more money to help support him with his future endeavors and provide him with the recognition he deserves! For this marathon, I hope to raise $5,000.
Founder of Run Far, CJ Schneider III, veteran of the United States Marine Corps, is an ultra marathon runner whose goal is to bring people together through fitness to raise awareness for veteran suicide and PTSD. To learn more about Run Far, check out the website: www.run-far.org.
