19 should not be middle age.
I would run to the end of the earth and back for one more day. On May 4,1988 I lost my father to Chronic Meylogenous Leukemia, he was just 38 years old. I was 11 and I thought the sky was falling. The worst part of this tragedy is that he did have a bone marrow donor lined up in late 1987, but she backed out. Bone marrow saves lives, maybe it could have saved his.
19 as a middle age is ridiculous.
So, running to the end of the earth wont bring him back...My running can however, raise awareness about the bone marrow registry. Maybe my running will ensure that another little girl has a daddy cheer at softball games, or beam with pride at graduation, or to walk her down the aisle. I am running this marathon in honor of my father and for all those who need bone marrow transplants.
I am running because 19 shoud not be middle age.

2013 is here and the ING New York City Marathon will be better, bigger and more dynamic than ever! Sandy be ware 'cause we are back! And TEAM RTR and Racing To Register plan to be there and rock NYC. This year we are once again a charity partner of the NYRR for this amazing event. Everything about it is incredible. The crowds, the scenary, and the people! Over 2,000,000 people along the way make sure you finish! And most of all, the cause you run for will inspire you and thousands of those in need of a marrow donor. TEAM RTR NYC will run through the boroughs of New York in order to help find more people to join the National Bone Marrow Donor Registry. So far participants have helped find 13 people in need donor or stem cell matches...2 have gone on to donate.
But we need more, and need help. Support these runners with a donation. Did you know our average donation for TEAM RTR is only about $60.00 but we have raised over $60,000.00 since 2012? So don't feel like you need to donate a ton. In fact, heck, only $10.00 is good. $10 will help pay for one bone marrow testing kit. $65.00 pays for an entire kit. $50.00 gives a child in need a nice present as part of RTR Cares. $500.00 pays for RTR to host an entire bone marrow drive!
So please consider donating to this TEAM, and help us save some lives !
