Radiating Hope-Climb Kili

My name is Madie, I'm 17 years old and I'm raising $8,000 for cancer victims in Tanzania, by climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro with Radiating Hope. Radiating Hope's is a 501c3 non-profit organization, whose goal is to raise money to provide and update radiation equipment in countries where radiation therapy and cancer care is hard to find, and optimal treatments are sparse. In March 2014 a team of cancer caregiver and advocates are going to travel to Tanzania on a mission to bring cancer care to the Kilimanjaro Catholic Medical Center (KCMC), as part of our Tanzania project, and to other parts of Africa. Radiation Therapy is the most practical and cost effective modality of treating cancer worldwide. Moshi, in Tanzania, home to Mt Kilimanjaro, has no cancer center with absolutely no Radiation Oncology to be found. In fact, in all of Tanzania, there are only two radiation oncology centers and only one is functioning. Radiating Hope would like to change this! This team of caregivers and advocates will take on Mt Kilimanjaro, becoming super-advocates to the cause, raising awareness and funds to help build the future cancer center at KCMC, who have land already set aside next to their hospital for the future center.

My goal is to raise $8,000 towards the center by actively seeking pledges from people like you who support our efforts to bring a cure for cancer to those in Tanzania, giving them a fighting chance at beating cancer. I hope I can achieve this goal and help these citizens of Tanzania who need our help. It is truly a blessing that I have this opportunity and I greatly appreciate your help. Any amount is greatly appreciated, and every dime goes to the project of building the cancer center!
