R2R: The Campaign
Throughout the past year, we’ve seen hope for peace in the LRA affected communities. If we can step up our efforts now, we have a good shot at seeing this war come to an end. But we need your help. By forming a Voice Project club on your campus and partnering with campus and/or local radio stations, we can raise money together for the construction of new FM radio towers in LRA affected areas of DR Congo and for the production of ongoing peace songs and defection messages.
In the same way that FM radio is amplifying the efforts of local communities in the Congo, your campus or local radio station has the potential to help you get your community involved in your efforts to see an end to the LRA. This is how it will work:
Voice Project Campus Clubs will ask their local radio stations to agree to play song requests for donations for a time period ranging from a few hours to a full week. You’ll set up a Crowdrise page that is co-branded for your club and the local station (we can help), and it suggests that donors put song requests in the comments section provided when they donate.
DJs/Producers at the station can have the page open at the studio and see requests and donations in real time.
So, what are you waiting for? Join the team to get started today!
P.S. We’ll be in touch once you make your page to answer any questions you might have.
