BENEFITING: American Brain Tumor Association
EVENT DATE: Jul 19, 2015
I’m cycling across Iowa in this year’s 500-mile RAGBRAI ride (July 19 – 25) and am dedicating each day in support of an important charitable organization. I’ll use the ride as an opportunity to raise funds and help create awareness for these organizations and the causes they support.
The American Brain Tumor Association (ABTA) is among the organizations I’ll be supporting during RAGBRAI. Day 1 (July 19th, Sioux City to Storm Lake) will be in support of ABTA and their important work. Founded in 1973, ABTA was first and is now the only national organization committed to funding brain tumor research and providing information and education on all tumor types and all age groups. For 40 years, the ABTA has been providing comprehensive resources that support the complex needs of brain tumor patients and caregivers, as well as the critical funding of research in the pursuit of breakthroughs in brain tumor diagnosis, treatment and care.
This leg is also dedicated in memory of our dear cousin and friend, Neal Buss. Neal lost his valiant fight with brain cancer 9 years ago after a short, heartfelt struggle.
If you'd like to join me in supporting the American Brain Tumor Association in memory of Neal, please donate here! Thanks!
