In 1887, nine young women, motivated by a desire to establish a facility solely dedicated to caring for children in Cleveland, met on Thanksgiving Day to form the Rainbow Circle of King’s Daughters. Through charity balls and bed subscriptions, they were able to raise enough money to provide a place for children to heal. And from these humble beginnings eventually grew UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, one of the pre-eminent children’s hospitals in the country. Today, the hospital continues to shape the future of pediatric health care with nationally recognized experts, leading-edge clinical research and state-of-the-art facilities, treatments and technologies.
