BENEFITING: India Literacy Project
EVENT DATE: Apr 30, 2016
As a kid I used to visit R K Pet , Tamil Nadu , India during summers and enjoyed playing in the coconut farm, swim in the water well, help start the water pump set , ride the bullock carts etc not concerned about permission or who owned them. All welcomed me as the city kid whose Dad has a great heart . What I did not know then was...My Dad had donated land for the village school in 1970's and so was greatly respected!
As I got into the workforce, I realized how poor the villagers were but never showed me any sadness anytime my life. I started taking their pictures during my recent visits and talking to them. Realized they have no money for sending their children to college.
Though my Dad had donated the land for the village High school during 1970's but just high school education is not fetching the Youth a decent job now a day's.
So here I am doing my bit of raising funds for at least 3 youths this year so they can pursue college education. Hoping the Youth will pay forward and get at least few families out of the poverty during their lifetime.
