Chris Gerard recently took a hard fall, hard enough to suffer an injury to part of his brain. He is currently recovering and his long-term outlook for a full recovery looks promising. The problem? He doesn't have medical insurance and his bills are going to be huge.
You see, Chris is a small business owner with a young family. After making beer at home for years, the entrepreneurial spirit within rose up a couple years ago and he started a company called Bare Hands Brewery in Granger, Indiana. Since then, he has acquired a devoted following...people like his beer. A lot.
Business has been solid and Chris has been reinvesting all of the profits back into growing it, which is probably why he doesn't have medical insurance yet (his three kids do). This is where we need your help. Our goal is to raise enough money to cover his medical bills; the $60,000 goal by June 23 is a reasonable estimate and time frame, though the bills could be much higher. We know that there are a lot of people out there who know Chris and want to see he and his family succeed. If you're reading this, you are probably one of them. We (Chris's family) are going to do whatever it takes to ensure that happens, one way or another.
We have also set that date, June 23, for our "Raise a Pint for Chris" Benefit Golf Outing at Knollwood Country Club. Please join us for this event which will feature a round of 18 during the day with a dinner and silent auction to follow. Tickets are available for an individual, foursome, or dinner/auction only. A bank account has been set up to collect donations, all of which will go directly toward Chris's medical bills. We can't thank you enough for your kindness, thoughts, and prayers. Chris WILL get well again, and he WILL get back to being a kick-ass husband, father, and brewer. Please donate now, tell your friends, and help us reach our goal of $60,000 by June 23!
