During my first year of law school, I interned with The Fortune Society as a court advocate in the Kings County Supreme Court. The experience proved to be a formative one: challenging, eye-opening, and ultimately very rewarding. I believe in The Fortune Society's mission and the people that work there. The Fortune Society provides essential services to individuals re-entering society after incarceration, as they face challenges that would test the most resilient among us. Fortune’s holistic, one-stop resources - counseling, health services, substance abuse treatment, education, housing assistance, advocacy, career development, and community education - assist and support them as they become true contributors to society.
Please contribute what you can. Preparing for the marathon has been such an exciting experience for me, but I'd really like to take this opportunity to give back to an organization that has meant so much to so many in need.
