Raising Money for a LYONess
Organized by: Britni and Blake Lyons
"When everyone you love has the ONE thing you want."... I share this quote because that is exactly how my dear friends, Blake and Britni LYONS, feel every day as they see everyone around them starting families when they have been trying for years and due to a series of unfortunate events, including polycystic ovaries and hormone imbalances, have been unsuccessful. February 2016, at the age of 32, after two years of multiple fertility treatments and IUI treatments in hopes on concieving, Britni finally got her positive pregnancy test... Unfortunately, a few weeks into her pregnancy it was found that the fetus, due to scaring from the many cysts over the years, had gotten stuck in her fallopian tube. Blake and Britni not only lost the baby, but she also lost her fallopian tube. Her only option is now In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) as any further IUI treatments are extremely high risk considering her history and is unlikely to result in a healthy pregnancy. IVF is used to bypass the tubes and a developing fetus (a baby!) is implanted directing so that pregnancy is possible. As we all know, insurance only goes so far and although has helped them thus far in their journey, they do not cover ANY costs for IVF treatments. Blake and Britni both have full time jobs, and Britni has also recently acquired a part time job in order to save for IVF. This fundraiser is to help them save for IVF, as they are both in their mid-thirties and desparately want a family of their own. Any amount helps, and I know although they both have a really hard time asking for financial help, they will appreciate any amount donated. Blake and Britni are the most deserving sweet people and with your help they will make great parents. Thank you all!
