Raising money to go home for dad's funeral. (best dad ever)
Organized by: Nikolaj Barfoed
Dear Mr. &/or Mrs. And everyone else. I'm looking for economical help, so I can attend my Dad's funeral as he has just passed away after a fight with cancer. My dad just passed away from cancer. A brain tumor in the right side of his brain. The doctor first found the tumor around 2 years ago, and he fought a brave fight. But as for most people, cancer wins. But then again life wins over cancer. Since dying is a part of life, and I feel lucky, that I knew it could happen any time soon. Some people are not that lucky, and if you're one, you have my condolences. He was the best dad that he could ever be, took me on trips, vacations, gave me a lot of knowledge (he could communicate with people in 11 different languages) Supported me in my sports, my education and everything in between. It'll never be easy loosing one you love, but knowing they were the best they could be, gives me some kind of peace. He was a poor man though (but only money wise) and so is my mom, whom went down with stress from work around 10 years ago and never recovered fully. I was lucky to get a scholarship to study in Santa Barbara, America. And I thought I would barely have enough to survive the year here. The prices over here are sadly way more expensive than estimated and I'm living on close to nothing. The plane home to Copenhagen, so I can attend the funeral, is very expensive, and I've already called and asked different airplane companies for Bereavement Fares. But the prices they told me were outrageous [3000$]. So I'm asking you for your help, ANY help is helpfull, And I would be able to afford a plane home asap, so I can say my last goodbyes to the man, that no matter what, was always there for me. May you Rest In Peace, Sunday the 20th of Marts, 23:46. To the one's who are curious here's the languages he could speak. Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, English, German, Russian, French, Italian, Spanish, Greek & Chinese. Also he was a very interesting man, who has traveled the world, worked on Wave energy, educated and worked as a biologist and much more. There are loads of storys and questions to be answered. So if you have any, please ask and I'll try to dim your curiosity. He got to experience so much in his lifespan, and even I haven't figured it all out yet.
