House of Living Hope Ministries' Fundraiser:

Raising Hope for the Forgotten Batwa Tribe Seeds of Hope Children in Uganda

House of Living Hope Ministries' Photo

The Batwa pygmy tribe of south western Uganda are conservation refugees. They were forced out of their rain forest home in the Bwindi Impenetrable Rain Forest in order to make the rain forest a refuge for the 350 mountain gorillas. The Ugandan government does not currently consider the Batwa citizens of Uganda. The local tribes do not consider the Batwa to be human. They are highly discriminated against and can not go to local medical clinics or schools. Most are not land owners and they have lost their dignity as they went from being the "Keepers of the Forest" to becoming "Land Squatters" and "Living Scarecrows" for local farmers. House of Living Hope Ministries has partnered with Hope Ministries Uganda to advocate for the Batwa Seeds of Hope Children. We currently have 130 Batwa children who have been orphaned and/or abandoned in our House of Living Hope Orphanage. We are a non profit 501(c)3 organization. We have started a monthly feeding program and have been going strong since August of 2015. For 2016 we are working towards keeping our feeding program going, along with adding education, medical care, gardening & farm animals, and land projects. As we are a grassroots effort. 97% of all monies donated goes directly to the Batwa. To learn more about our organization, please visit our website:
