Raising Money for Tonia: A Family in Need
Organized by: The Fox Foundation
Tonia and her three children presently reside in the cellar of her mother’s home, who has no space to accommodate them elsewhere.
She was forced to give up the home she rented after her boyfriend, who is the father of her two youngest children, lost his job three weeks ago and was unable to continue paying the rent.
Tonia and her children, ages 12, two and one, now occupy the makeshift cellar home with no floor and barely enough room to stand.
It is also quite damp.
Tonia is trying to make the best of her situation but she fears for her family's safety, given the makeshift nature of the dwelling which she is unable to secure properly. She is also concerned about their health because of the dusty and mouldy nature of this confined area.
While upset about her current living situation, Tonia hopes she will be able to find a job soon and move her family to somewhere more comfortable.
While her mother has no room in her home to accommodate them, Tonia can use the facilities there such as the kitchen, bathrooms and electricity.
Further compunding her problems now, is the fact that the water supply to the property has been turned off and electricity is about to be cut as well.
Tonia prays for a place to live and a job so she could take care of her children, her greatest concern.
So many people she thought she could count on to get her through this tough time in her life have not lent a hand to help.
Help us help Tonia! Your money goes to finding Tonia and her family a safe, comfortable home until she can get back on her feet. Imagine the difference this peace of mind could bring to Tonia at such a trying time in her life!
